Creativity – Key to Success

In today’s digital age, it is common to go from a zero to a hero with just one click. YouTube sensations are created overnight. Funding of new projects is made possible with crowdsourcing. New jobs are created with the rise of social media. From filmmakers, singers, make-up artists to fitness instructors and social media strategists and all come with international recognition.

So long as you have a creative mindset, you can be versatile enough to turn any form of opportunities and ideas to the next big entrepreneurial success. It is all about looking at a single idea via different perspectives and applying a solid strategy to drive it to success. Certainly with our current competitive landscape, great creativity is needed to differentiate one idea from the next.

With creativity and versatility as the backbone of their teaching methodology, IACT College has been known to produce talented individuals who are highly sought after by employers all over the world. Founded and endorsed by industry professionals, IACT College prides itself in providing an education which produces job-ready graduates ready to take on the real world.

Bruce Wong, an IACT Alumni, best known for his chain of F&B establishments – co-owner of The Royal Flush, Tom, Dick & Harry’s Pub, Ali, Muthu and Ah Hock Kopitiam, Crazy Crabs and Hoofed, is a rising star in the culinary arena. Wong (a marketing communication graduate from IACT College) who first started off in the advertising industry shares on his experience, “Being taught by industry experts from the advertising world painted a realistic picture of the advertising industry. Plus the internship programme really geared me up for what was coming.”

From advertising, he ventured into the F&B industry and carved his name there. When asked to comment on this, Wong replies, “The College disciplined my passion and creativity, making me versatile and unafraid when taking up new challenges.”

It is also creative versatility which pushed another IACT College alumnus – Jared Lee to fame. This man is the name behind The GRIMFILM (a YouTube filmmaker); Once Upon a Time There Was a Sausage Named Bob (music band guitarist) and Morning Wood (co-owner of a hipster café). “At IACT, even though there is a syllabus to follow, there was always the freedom to do what I wanted to do with the creativity to explore more. At the end of the day, in the real world it is up to you to explore and learn along the way” – states Lee.

Not only does the environment enable the students to develop their creativity, the lecturers play an even greater role in nurturing these individuals. He adds, “At IACT, the lecturers are always willing to listen, even to my crazy ideas.”

IACT College is also where Jared discovered and developed his passion in film and broadcasting. This aligns with the philosophy of IACT College ever since its inception in 1970. The College aims to discover, nurture and ignite the passion within individuals to achieve success in diversified fields of businesses. Creativity for these individuals certainly began at IACT College.
