Entry Requirements
- Degree: Minimum 2:2 Honours in Law, Social Sciences or Humanities or relevant degree.
Note: We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths.
English Language Requirements:
- Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
Curriculum
On this course you will study current research and issues in criminal justice and international law and gain a firm grounding in the functions and operation of the International Criminal Court.
Building on this solid foundation, you will then decide which aspects of this fascinating subject you would like to focus on. You will have a choice of 11 optional modules, including International Law and the Use of Force, War and Human Rights, and Critical Perspectives on Terrorism.
Throughout the course you will develop the research skills expected of a postgraduate student and put these to use in your own studies, including your dissertation. For this compulsory element of the course, you will be able to research a topic of your choosing.
Whichever direction you go in, you will gain a critical appreciation of the dynamic tension between domestic and international law and the implications for justice and human rights.
