Accommodation
École Polytechnique has around 1,500 student apartments and a hotel with fifty rooms reserved for short-stay visitors or the site's staff. Polytechnician students for whom boarding is compulsory are housed in individual studios. Masters and doctoral students must submit an accommodation request. Accommodation will be allocated depending on the places available.
The École Polytechnique endeavors as far as possible to help its students find the best accommodation solution for them. Certain applicants are given priority, however:
Accommodation is allocated first to:
- those arriving in France for the first time
- those with a low source of financing
The campus accommodation office allocates accommodation to:
- polytechnician students and military officers according to DFHM guidelines,
- masters and doctoral students according to Graduate School guidelines,
- overseas students according to the board of governors' guidelines.
Campus
Two universities, ten grandes écoles and seven research bodies decided to come together to work on a shared project: the Université de Paris-Saclay. Together, these nineteen founding establishments, which are diverse but complementary, offer a very high standard of training. In addition, their interdisciplinary projects are recognized in France and abroad as playing a leading role in terms of scientific potential. By strengthening the bonds between the grandes écoles and universities, the project seeks to meet the challenge of global competition as regards teaching, research and innovation.
As early as 2023, the Paris-Saclay campus will welcome three train stations on Line 18 of the Grand Paris Express metro network. In the short term, renovation plans for the southern part of the RER B train line will make it possible to offer a high-quality service to campus users.
Soft mobility will also be developed for all users with, in particular, the creation of a network of cycle lanes on and off campus.
A new neighborhood that is currently being built around École Polytechnique will soon be the heart of engineering at Paris-Saclay. The École Polytechnique neighborhood will become a campus grouping together companies' teaching and research activities and start-ups, as well as housing, businesses and other services and centers of cultural exchange
