Accommodation

Student accommodation provides excellent facilities for study and recreation. The halls are staffed by a team of Residential Co-ordinators who are responsible for the development of communities within the halls. Residential Co-ordinators work on a duty rota to provide overnight and weekend support. Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, cleaning and keeping communal areas tidy, daily rubbish removal and for doing their own washing up.

Each floor has a fitted kitchen with a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is either a breakfast bar or dining table provided

All residences are centrally heated and all water, light and heating costs are included in the rent. Heating and hot water systems operate in the mornings and evenings but not 24 hours a day.

Bedrooms in all university-owned halls have access to hard-wired and wifi internet connections at speeds of up to 20mbps.

Campus

Our campuses are in Carlisle, Lancaster and Ambleside. These are lively, safe, student-friendly cities with a lower than average cost of living. Transport links are excellent. We are on the West Coast mainline rail network and close to the M6 motorway. Carlisle to Lancaster is approximately one hour in a car or train. Lancaster to Manchester is just 55 mins on half hourly rail service.

The campuses are compact and situated within walking distance of the city centres. The great outdoors is on our doorstep from city centre parks to National Parks and the university's clubs and societies will help you to take advantage of all that our spectacular surroundings have to offer.
