About Nottingham Trent University (NTU)

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a university in Nottingham, England. It was founded as Trent Polytechnic (later Nottingham Polytechnic) in 1970 before gaining university status in 1992. Its roots can be traced to around 1945 (however some of its origins can be loosely associated with the founding of University College Nottingham, now the University of Nottingham). It is one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom, serving more than 25,000 students. NTU offers strong course portfolio at all levels, from Foundation through to PhD. Many courses are designed with industry to ensure relevance to today's employers and many include professional accreditation. Part-time study are available too. 

Nottingham Trent University is ranked amongst the UK's greenest universities in the Green League for the environmental commitment. The Guardian wrote that Nottingham Trent University is "one of the top places in the country for graduate employment", and the university has significant international recognition for its work in Art and Design, Communication, Business, Cultural and Media Studies and English Language and Literature, and for its Professions allied to Medicine, French and Law in 2007.

Campus

NTU has over 1,000 computer workstations in the library and numerous IT resource rooms. The Boots Library consists 531,000 books, 2,800 journals, 9,000 e-Journals, silent study areas and group study rooms. There are also wireless hotspots access across the university. There's an Exercise Studio and Sport Theraphy Clinic provided in the campus. The new Lee Westwood Sports Centre has sport and athlete support facilities, including sports halls, studios and fitness suites, and a nutrition training centre. NTU also offers a great range of student accommodation in unrivalled locations. All new students are guaranteed a place in University-allocated accommodation.
