Entry Requirements

Study Requirements

Prerequisite for the opening of the master program is a bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent degree.

For enrollment must be evidenced by a certificate stating that the conditions are met for receiving a master's degree program in accordance with examination regulations and study skills Statute.

Linguistic Proficiency

According to the study qualification statutes following linguistic conditions that have to be detected at enrollment are:

  • good reading skills (C1 to CEF, see: ) in English language, demonstrated in particular by the school certificate (at least four years education, completion of at least a grade of satisfactory (07)) or
  • TOEFL® ITP (Paper-based test): 550 points or comparable test or
  • Conclusion of an English-language Bachelor's program


In the one-subject Master's degree program Economics module examinations are to be performed in the following areas: Compulsory section in Economics, Compulsory section in Econometrics, Optional section in Economics and Minor in the field Subject.

The possible elective modules and elective subjects can be found in the Annex to Fachprüfungsordnung.

The master thesis is written during studies in the fourth semester.

The modular test determines whether the graduates of the Master Program Economics have achieved the learning outcomes of a module. The module examinations take place during studies and may consist of one or more examinations. The type and number of examinations to be services are governed by the examination regulations.

The Master examination is passed if all module examinations required by the exam regulations and the work - in one of the two subjects studied - existed and thus the required number of credits earned.
